HOW IT WORKS

For the studio -

This project was designed to be simple and beneficial. The only obligation from your studio is to provide space for the shoot and utilize your existing network to share the opportunity with your community. You’ll also receive the added benefit of having beautiful, professional photographs for studio use.

Details:

  • For each shoot we open 10 individual sessions that include professional photography and 1:1 story sharing.

  • Each session is a suggested $50-100 dollar donation and we require a minimum of 10 participants to run a shoot.

  • Individual sessions are paid for at the time of booking.

  • As a studio, you may elect to sponsor an individual with financial need.

  • Many studios choose to offer a benefit class the day prior in addition.

  • Two weeks prior to a shoot, we provide participants with detailed instructions about what to expect the day of the shoot + journaling questions.

  • Each participant can expect 20-25 finished images 2 weeks post shoot for their personal use.

  • Studios also get use of any photos taken for promotion.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING TO PRACTICE WITH AND KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY.

For Participants -

  • On the day of the shoot please bring your own mat and any other props that are meaningful to you.

  • Dress and adorn true to you, street clothes welcome if that feels best.

Journaling

Here are a few questions to get you thinking. You may use the questions or simply freeform write about your personal journey with yoga and your life experience.

How did you find yoga?

Where and when did you find yoga?

What did it feel like in the beginning to be in a class, home practice, to mediate, to receive assists, etc.

How has your connection to the practice deepened?

What issues led you to the practice and how has your relationship to them evolved along the way? Think health, mental illness, death/loss, relationships, work and purpose, relationship to self, trauma, etc.

What teachers really stand out to you and why?

How has your practice evolved?

What is different than when you began?

How does yoga show up in your life day to day moment to moment?

If you teach, why?

Do you feel drawn to do a YTT? If you have done one what was that experience like?

What has yoga taught or untaught you?

What areas of your life does yoga inform?

What would you like to see more of in yoga studios and the yoga world?

What words would you offer to someone who is unsure if the practice is accessible or possible for them?

Thank You for your time and willingness to show up as you are.
